At the age of 13, I began piping lessons in my hometown of Rockville, Maryland under the tutelage of Dr. Richard Scott Blair. Dr. Blair, among his many accomplishments, is the official White House Piper and performs for dignitaries, heads of state and presidential functions. Under his instruction, I quickly became the first pipe major and soloist of the Robert E. Peary High School Pipe Band.
After graduation from high school, I took private lessons from Sandy Jones, who was then the Pipe Major of the Air Force Pipe Band and is now Director of the North American School of Bagpipes. As a result of rigorous practicing and his excellent instruction, I went on to perform with the Denny and Dunipace Pipe Band (now known as the City of Washington Pipe Band) which won several national and international championship contests.
Upon relocating to Cocoa Beach in 1993, I joined the Oceanside Pipes and Drums, for which I soon became Pipe Sergeant. In 1998, I became Pipe Major and changed the name of the band to The City of Melbourne Pipes and Drums. Under my direction, the band has more than doubled in size and has become very active in the community, performing in parades and at special events. I look forward to leading my band into the winner’s circle at Highland Games, where I am presently a consistent top award winner in solo competition.
I am available to perform traditional Highland Piping in a number of different settings including weddings, funerals, parties, celebrations and remembrances. Bagpiping instruction is also available.
My goal is to continue to present the highest level of professional piping and piping instruction to the Central Florida Area.
